# Morning Miles: Maui, Hawaii

Before the holiday heat settled over the island, I set out for a morning run heading south toward Kanahena. The route shifts between two distinct worlds: the manicured palm groves of Wailea resort paths giving way to the raw, jagged black lava fields of South Maui.

**The Route** 

- **Distance:** \~10.4 Miles (Out & Back)
- **Terrain:** Coastal pavement transitioning into exposed volcanic corridors
- **Pacing & Elevation:** Rolling coast and undulating turns, balances a steady pace against the rising heat and humidity of the morning.
